As part of our commitment to empower anyone to live pain-free and perform their best, we recognized an opportunity over the last year to step up and support underserved communities around our home in the Greater Boston area. TB12 and the TB12 Foundation got right to work and developed a program to sponsor and host young scholar-athletes from the city of Brockton, MA throughout their school year.
We graduated our first class of student-athletes this week as part of this ongoing partnership with Brockton Public Schools. The 8-month program ended with a special surprise virtual appearance by Tom Brady and TB12 Co-Founder Alex Guerrero. The initiative is part of TB12’s continued commitment focusing on community development and impacting youth athletes in sports.
The first class of this program featured 16 student-athletes from Brockton High School who represented a wide array of sports and grade levels. The program was centered around personalized coaching from TB12 Body Coaches in the areas of hydration & nutrition, injury prevention, and functional training, with an emphasis on the importance of working to stay healthy. The students also had a chance to consistently experience hands-on treatment from our TB12 Body Coaches throughout the duration of this program.
During their last session, the students were treated to a new challenge – to complete an obstacle course designed by one of TB12’s Body Coaches, followed by a dinner to celebrate their completion of the program. The highlight of the night was a surprise appearance by Tom Brady and our TB12 Co-Founder Alex Guerrero via Zoom congratulating the students on their accomplishments. It was an incredible opportunity for the students to share the highlights of their experience with Tom, ask him a few questions, and learn more about what motivates him to continue to push the limits.
We’re incredibly proud of the commitment and effort these athletes have put in over the course of our program, and cannot wait to see what they’ll accomplish in the future.
