We all have our morning routines. They all look a little different, but their purpose is the same: setting the tone for the day ahead.

Over the years, I have found that my deepest work happens in the mornings. More often than not, by about two o’clock, the day has lost its structure. Meetings, “Emergencies”, and emails have found ways to steal my time.

And yes, I’ll admit it. I could do better to protect my time in the afternoon. But honestly, this industry requires a certain amount of flexibility, and slotting “flexible” time at the end of the day allows me to protect my most productive hours.

Since my mornings are limited, I do everything I can to make the most of them.

The day starts with a glass of water, a dose of Perform, and turning on the tea kettle.

Perform is packed with a spread of great ingredients. For example, chronic supplementation with Ashwagandha has been shown to support multiple aspects of daily life, like sleep performance, body composition maintenance, physical performance, and stress management.

Unfortunately, most of the research supporting Ashwagandha’s positive effects is based on chronic supplementation, meaning benefits are realized weeks from starting a supplement routine, not immediately.

For my morning to be productive, I need support now, not eight weeks from now.

Perform holds two ingredients of particular interest when it comes to immediate performance, specifically cognitive performance.

The first is Sceletium toruosum, an ingredient traditionally native to South Africa, shown to promote a sense of calmness during stressful situations 30 minutes after consumption in a 2020 study.

The second ingredient, mango leaf extract, was shown in a 2020 study to support cognitive function 30 minutes after consumption. To make things better, the same study demonstrated that these benefits can last up to five hours.

By the time these ingredients start to kick in, my tea is ready. Tea is a fantastic source of catechins, caffeine, vitamins, and theanine, which explains its positive effects on cognitive performance found in a 2025 study

By starting my day with Perform, then slowly adding the active ingredients found in my tea, I can be sure that my cognitive functions and natural stress responses are getting the support they need without a heavy dose of stimulants, allowing me to lock in on the task at hand without worrying about a looming crash.

Adding Perform to my morning does more than support my routine; it optimizes it.
