One of our favorite immune-boosting ingredients to watch is Elderberry. It not only has been shown to help protect key immune cells from the harmful effects of oxidative stress, but it tastes great too!
Elderberry is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It stimulates the immune system, helping the body fend off illnesses and infections.
Incorporating elderberry into smoothies enhances flavor and fortifies them with a natural defense mechanism against common ailments. Blend with other fruits, leafy greens, or yogurt, to create a power-up protein recipe.
Below we put together our own refreshing smoothie with an Elderberry base:
Ingredients (single serving)
- 1/2 cup Elderberry Juice (or 1/4 cup Elderberry Concentrate)
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tbsp. almond butter
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 banana
- 1 scoop TB12 Plant-Based Vanilla Protein
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, serve, and enjoy!
