We're serving up a healthy twist on an iconic dessert: black bean brownies! This recipe is TB12 Body Coach Chuck Gilman's go-to chocolatey treat, and each brownie packs a rich and flavorful chocolatey taste – all thanks to clean ingredients and the power of black beans!
The best part of these nutrient-dense brownies is that you won't even know you're eating beans. They add valuable protein to the recipe and will make these the most moist and flavorful brownies you'll ever eat! Let's gooooo!
What You'll Need:
- 1 1/2 cups black beans (1 15-oz can, drained and rinsed very well)
- 2 tbsp Flaxseed meal
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup, honey, or agave
- 1/2 cup plant based milk
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup to 2/3 cup Vegan Chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and combine flaxseed meal with 6 tbsp water in a small bowl. Let that mixture stand for 5 minutes.
Combine all ingredients except the chips in a food processor and blend until smooth. Stir in the chips, then pour into 8in x 8in greased pan. Cook the black bean brownies for 15-18 minutes, then let them cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting and serving. Enjoy!
